Source Code

Gale is distributed primarily as source code. To build Gale, you will need a Unix-like system with a C compiler.

Download Gale source code.
(You can find older versions of Gale in the Archive.) This distribution includes the server, key management utilities, and command-line clients. Read the installation instructions to find out what to do.

Packages

RPM
Erik Ogan has RPM source and binary packages for those using Red Hat Linux (i386).
FreeBSD
Peter Haight created a FreeBSD port.
NetBSD
There is a NetBSD pkgsrc entry.

ViewCVS access

Access to the source repository is available for developers. This code is likely to be unstable and may be incompatible with existing clients. Use at your own risk!
